As required both by its strategic role in the Turkish economy and its various duties, the CBRT employs highly-qualified human resources comprised of a variety of professions. At the end of 2020, the number of staff positions held by the Bank amounted to 4,354, 80.36% of which was occupied by 3,499 employees.
In 2020, 463 people left the Bank’s employment due to retirement, resignation, dismissal, military service obligations and death while 88 people were hired. Thus, the number of people on the Bank’s payroll at the year-end had decreased by 375 to 3,499 since 2019 (Chart 1.2.1).
General administrative services accounted for 79.59% of the Bank’s staffing. This is followed by technical services with 12.52%, health services with 0.46%, legal services with 0.43%, and supporting services with 7%. Of the Bank’s staff, 9.40% is employed under contracts, while 90.60% hold permanent positions.
Of the CBRT’s staff, 57.24% is employed at the Bank’s Head Office and 42.76% works in branches. A breakdown of staff by age groups shows that the 31-40 age group makes up 46.21% of the staff (Chart 1.2.2). On the other hand, 84.48% of the staff hold undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate degrees (Chart 1.2.3).
