Training activities consist of programs organized by the CBRT and other institutions and organizations.
In 2022, the CBRT organized 88 different training courses in 168 groups. A total of 5,916 participants attended in-house training activities adding up to 2,257 hours. The CBRT staff had a learning experience totaling 49,138 hours through a hybrid methodology combining face-to-face class learning, online virtual classrooms and e-learning materials trainings. The average training duration per CBRT staff is 13.01 hours.
Orientation and behavioral competency programs, central banking, data science, information technologies, payment systems, human resources, leadership, law, legislation, audit and econometrics stand out as the main topics of the training programs.
Out of 88 training programs, 54 (61%) were provided through in-house resources (in-house instructors and department officials) and 34 (39%) were outsourced (firm instructors, other institutions) (Chart 2.13.1.1).
The in-house training process continued throughout the year. Thirty-one training programs were organized for 53 groups by in-house trainers, who share their knowledge and experience with the Bank’s employees through structured training programs. These programs were attended by 1,022 participants who mainly studied data science, central banking, econometrics and law.
In terms of training methods, 59% of the training programs were conducted face-to-face in a classroom, 29% in an online virtual classroom environment, 6% through video-based e-learning, and 6% through a mixed method (Chart 2.13.1.2).
As part of the 2022 Talent Development Program, 118 employees participated in the assessment center practices in total. Following the program, webinars were organized for employees and their managers, and online feedback meetings were held with their managers under the guidance of consultants on the development areas of employees. What is more, 40 employees attended the assessment center practices after the transition exam as part of the title transition exams in 2022.
A total of 81 university students from 33 universities took part in face-to-face CBRT Bank Introductory Program organized in Istanbul.
A total of 152 CBRT employees participated in 29 short-term local training programs organized by other institutions and organizations in 2022. 13 of these courses were held online. 16 employees took part in 14 different training programs organized by other central banks and international organizations (Chart 2.13.2.1).
A total of 84 CBRT employees, including 15 recent recruits, continued their post-graduate (master’s and PhD) education in Türkiye. Within the scope of post-graduate education abroad, 15 employees, nine for master’s degree and six for PhD, benefited from scholarships provided by the CBRT; 22 employees, 16 for master’s degrees and six for PhD studies, continued their education on external scholarships (Chart 2.13.2.2).
