In 2016, some research and development projects have been carried out by Banknote Printing Plant. In this context;

• A system capable of number tracing and quality control has been developed by the use of image recognition technology for the printing machines that print numbers on banknotes, and it has been put into use after being installed to one of the numbering printing machines.
• The ink mixing systems used in the ink ducts for Intaglio printing machines have been modernized and the developed system has been installed and started to operate in three ducts on one printing machine.
• Pre-feasibility studies have been conducted regarding project-based works intended for improvement in production processes.
